Why cant i figure out what i need to do?

Leaving take your kids and leave will it be easy no that's why i think you stay fear of failure once you are out of the relationship. But trust and believe things only get worse if you stay. That's my advice if you take it good for you there is help out there for battered women even if you don't consider yourself one.
