Mw2 question (PS3)? help?

when i tried to play mw2 today since a ong time ago. when i press online you know to go to the main and menu on multiplayer. well it says connecting to matchmaking or something like that and it stays like that. taking to long i just eventually turned my ps3 off . what is up? is this happening to you? help!
