Friends reaction to me leaving?

If one of your closest friends was going to a new school next year( its summer now) but isnt moving, would you try to hang out with him/her more, or would you avoid them more. I just would like to know ure answer on this. Im moving to a new school and my close friend seems to be ignoring me a bit more, is there a reason for that?
