The author could be Narcissus who fell in love with his reflection and died there not being able to leave his perfect image. It is also self-centered in that the center of the author's world is him/herself. It is also a lie. Gorgeous, when one applies it to oneself and then celebrates that quality, Is VERY shallow. Looks can give you an edge, but it can't, by itself, give you true love, true friends, true worth. Like the flower, it blooms, withers and decays.
