Why did Mortal Kombat Annihilation suck?

I worship Mortal Kombat (the movie) And I am so loyal that I tried to force myself to like the second one (Annihilation), but even with intense meditation I was unable to like it...Also, Ong-Bak 2 was the most horrible wannabe good movie I have ever seen. Why universe why?
